Subjects range from technology, psychology, history, science, and the odd. Customers are expected to be respectful and quiet during presentations. Beer is served all evening.

If you are interested in joining the group, send an email request to info@storytellersbrewery.com and reference the Mind Benders. We will add you to a private group email and the organizer will send you the detailed agenda for each week.

This session we will be covering…

Nikola Tesla

A strong claim can be made that Nikola Tesla pretty much single-handedly made the 20th century possible. Why?

Because without the technologies of AC Power, AC Motors and Polyphase AC Transmission our modern world would not exist.
And ALL were invented by Nikola Tesla over a century ago. And yet AC power system was just one of his many discoveries and inventions. Below are just a small sampling of other notable inventions.

  • 1882 – AC Induction Motor
  • 1889 – Tesla Coil
  • 1893 – AC Polyphase System
  • 1894 – X Rays
  • 1898 – Radio Control
  • 1899 – Wireless Power

Tesla’s story is an amazing and often a cautionary tale as the forces that opposed and embraced Tesla’s ideas a century ago are still with us today.

Come join us as we celebrate the genius and legacy of Nikola Tesla
